An excited Singaporean President

Singaporean President, Sellapan Rama Nathan has given the Coega port development the thumbs up. He has full confidence that the Straits Chemicals chlorine plant project will be a huge success.
This investment at Coega involves a total investment of over R21 billion! It is the second biggest investment in Coega after the Alcan aluminium smelter investment.
Singapore’s port and development zones have prospered significantly to become world leaders and this has added to the success and growth of their economy. The President foresees many similar prospects for Coega and is very sure if its success as well as the many benefits it will have on the country’s economy.
The president has also urged his country’s businessmen leaders to intensify their involvement in South Africa and particularly the Eastern Cape with Coega in mind.
This investment has many advantages. Interest in the Coega Industrial Development Zone has increased. As the president foresees, Coega’s IDZ will boost the countries economy especially that of the Eastern Cape.
