Popular Irish boy band will be performing at EPRU Stadium on Tuesday, 6 March 2007 as part of Algoa FM’s 21st birthday celebrations.

Interestingly, Westlife was created in 1998 and signed by meany and music guru Simon Cowel. The group have proven extremely successful especially in Ireland and the United Kingdom and are also relatively popular in Africa, Australia and Asia.

Westlife boasts tremendous popularity and great achievements! They achieved 14 UK #1 singles between the years 1999 and 2006 (the 3rd highest such total in UK history, behind Elvis Presley and The Beatles), ITV’s Record of the Year competition 4 times and 2 Brit Awards. Westlife are also the only band in UK chart history to have entered straight at number one with their first 7 singles. They are also the only artist/group to win ‘Record Of The Year’ in the UK 4 times. The group has so far sold more than 35 million albums over 40 countries worldwide.
