Coega Receives Yet Another Outstanding Award

The Coega Development Corporation has been on a winning streak lately and has recently received yet another award for its business process outsourcing.

The CDC was the recipient of the Business Process enabling South Africa (BPeSA) CEO‘s award at the 2007 National Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) Awards in Durban at the weekend.

The certificate is in recognition of excellence for outstanding performance and was awarded to the CDC‘s executive manager of business development. The objective of the award is to showcase the contact centre industry in South Africa and draw attention to examples of excellence in the sector.

The business process outsourcing and offshoring (BPO&O) sector is one of the key priority sectors of growth in South Africa under both Asgisa as well as the national industrial policy framework.

Evidently, Coega has experienced an increasing investor sentiment in the sector and the CDC are proceeding with the necessary preparations to improve the competitiveness of the Coega Industrial Development Zone and the region.
 
Now, the Coega Development Corporation has received funding to enrol 100 matriculants on a work readiness training programme for employment opportunities in entry level positions within the BPO&O sector.

In addition, construction of a 1 500-seater BPO park is underway and will be the first in the country. It will cover  over 16 600m², and will include offices, shops and training rooms.

Coega is experiencing excellent awards and phenomenal growth and interest.
