Massive Fiat Plant in the Cards in Coega

Yet another investment in the CDC is underway. The Coega Development Corporation is currently involved in negotiations with Fiat to build a massive R572 million vehicle assembly plant in the IDZ.
It has been revealed that this fantastic investment could create over 350 direct jobs.

These and numerous other investments in Coega show the level of confidence in their technical capacity.

Over 11 other investments are already in the line-up and are either currently being negotiated or receiving an environmental impact assessment.

These investments include a R700 million investment in bio-diesel and animal feed from soya beans which will create over 350 jobs as well as a commercial vehicle centre investment by Maritime Motors focusing on import and distribution.

Other projects currently under consideration include a R20 billion shrimp farming project which promises to create over 4 470 jobs when fully developed! In addition, the CDC has officially secured an investment from Afro-Asia Steel involving the smelting of scrap steel and casting of molten metal into billets through a continuous casting process.

Coega continues to experience increased interest and investment potential. Yet another investment is underway making the Coega Development Corporation one of the most sought after investment opportunities in South Africa.
