New 5 Star Bush Lodge in the Eastern Cape
Filed in: Accommodation, AllAt the launch of Kichaka Lodge‘s membership scheme in Port Elizabeth, it is said that the Nelson Mandela Bay is yet to experience its boom!
The lodge, 30km from Grahamstown, opened its doors a month ago. The owner, Tim Fenner, was motivated to move to South Africa after a former Grahamstown school master recommended the schools there and a CNN report listed the Nelson Mandela Bay as the No 1 spot in the world to invest in property!
18 months later after the decision and double the budget, they were finished! The lodge features 10 chalets with all the needed and luxurious comforts set on 350 hectares of big 5 bush country.
All local labour was utilised during the construction and all the furniture in the lodge had been made by a local artisans including the artwork. The lodge employs over 30 people.
While it is still early days for the lodge, it is believed that this spectacular venture is going to be very successful.
Known as a boutique hotel in the bush, Kichaka is set between two shimmering streams in a lush bushveld valley. Enjoy maximum privacy in secluded stone and thatched chalets. Each chalet is air-conditioned with glass fold back doors, a viewing deck with magnificent views, heated private plunge pool and stocked bar fridge. After exciting game viewing, one can enjoy gourmet dining in the restaurant, on the terrace or in private. Sip cocktails on the deck while watching the setting sun over the waterhole. Kichaka has it all!
