Top New Show Showcasing The Bay

After having successful  and enjoyable shows at the well known National Arts Festival in Grahamstown, the theatre production Imagine – Madiba Bay will be staged in Port Elizabeth for the first time at The Barn on September 7 at 6.30pm.

This fantastic show blends a number of artistic genres in a celebration of the life of Nelson Mandela Bay. It showcases the works of a number of Port Elizabeth‘s top poets, musicians, artists as well as photographers, all of whom reflect aspects of the life of the city and its ever changing environments.

In addition, there will be live poetry readings accompanied by music from Errol Cuddumbey and his trio. Further musical interludes will be presented by jazz singers Merle Ally and Angela Miller as well as well-known guitarist and singer Dave Goldblum.

During all the readings and songs, a large, two-metre screen will project images of Madiba Bay, taken by photographers Mike Barwood, Luc Hosten and Chris Allen. In addition, spectacular images of Michael Barry‘s artwork will be included in the collage.
